100th BLOG POST–100 Horror Movies!

When I started this blog back in 2016 on January 19 (Poe’s birthday), I figured I’d do it for a few months and give up. Two years and 99 posts later, here we are. Naturally, the only thing to do on such an occasion is to round up 100 Horror Movies for your dining and dancing pleasure.

Hard it was to narrow down a mere 100 from the 630-some movies I’ve listed on The Neverending Movie List. I had to make some tough choices. One thing I reluctantly did was cut some of my favorite movies which, though on The Neverending Movie List, are really only there for some horror elements. So, despite melting Nazi faces, Raiders Of The Lost Ark is not on here. Despite one of the creepiest endings in all cinema, neither is Sunset Boulevard.

You get the idea.

I’ve tried to cover as wide a range as I reasonably could, including horror comedy, black comedy, etc. There’s some really good stuff on here, and some really bad. Like really bad. Like spectacularly bad. The kind of stuff we here at Castle Blogferatu love so.

  1. Psycho (the only one not in alphabetical order because it remains my very most favoritest movie of all time in the history of ever)

  2. Dear Blogferatu,

I left a comment for you on this website a few weeks ago, but I have recently realized that WordPress has been deleting my comments. I wanted to congratulate you on your hundredth blog post. That’s wonderful! You’re an excellent writer. I noticed that the Pure Entertainment Preservation Society is number 2 on you list of other blogs called Cult of WordPress. Thank you for the plug! We appreciate it!

On November 9-11, PEPS is hosting the Claude Rains Blogathon in honor of this marvelous actor’s 129th birthday on November 10. We are just focusing on his extensive film career, and we are putting no limitations on duplicates. We want to hear everyone’s opinions on his wonderful movies! You can read the announcement and sign up here: https://pureentertainmentpreservationsociety.wordpress.com/2018/10/02/five-minutes-everybody-the-curtains-going-up-on-the-claude-rains-blogathon/. I wanted to invite you to join this blogathon because you wrote such a good article about “Phantom of the Opera” for my Singing Sweethearts Blogathon. I know that you share my admiration for Claude Rains. We could really use your talent!
